they all seem like good bikes you do know that there is a problem with limited stock of the Boardman, someone was saying on here that they wont be available till May at the earliest.
You might need to look into it if your in a rush.
I'd a spin on a trek 2.3 the other day and i loved it but of the bikes you've listed i'd go for the allez, it will hold its value.

The 1.7 is a smashing bike, great wheels. I can't see how the Spesh would hold it's value any better than the Trek. I'm assuming the Boardman would come through H which would make me nervous about the level of service and knowledge but that might depend on the branch. Not familiar with Canyon.

btw, the link to the 1.7 is for the 08 model. Thus the good price.

    Boardman Team Carbon
    Canyon Roadlite 6.0
Specialized Allez Elite / Trek 1.7 (around the same)

I would stick Planet X into the mix there, at the top, maybe the Focus Cayo 105 too. Both around the price point.

The Trek 1.7 says in the spec Bontrager Race Lite (good wheels) but the picture has Bontrager SSR (very entry level wheels, below the Bontrager Select.)

Actually I have the SSR's on my Trek 1.5 and they are nothing special. They look nice but that's about it: weight is around 2.3kg and they aren't even that strong!

The Boardman looks like a good deal, but the reports of problems with those Ritchey wheels would put me off it, unless I was going to swap the wheels out with something else. To me, the Canyon looks like the best bet. Good frame, solid wheels and quality components.

Yes, they would be fine for triathlons. If you were serious you could stick a cheap pair of aerobars on.
