I have a 1999 Peugeot 206 which I've recently gone to great lengths to get through the NCT. It's now NCT'ed til 2011, but last weekend it was broken into. There's a dent on the door, the paint is chipped and the plastic window pillar is creased. See attached photo.

I'm wondering if anyone knows how much this would cost to fix. I was hoping to sell it and buy something newer but I don't see any dealer or private buyer paying much for it with this damage. Anyone any ideas what my best bet is or how much I could expect to get for this car, either as-is or after doing the work? (Trade-in or private sale) My sister would give me 500 for it but I was really hoping to do a bit better than that - it cost me nearly that much to NCT!

The car is otherwise in pretty good nick now; I've had a brand new catalytic converter, oxygen sensor, brake shoes and brake cylinders put in. It's NCT'd til 2011, taxed til September and has 70,000 miles on it.

Any advice would be much appreciated.
    Thank you.

Sounds like you went to alot of effort to get that car through the test. A mint car with your age and mileage would be worth €1500-€2000. Maybe less.

By the look of it, I'd say that i'd say it may be a new door. There's too many little creases to get out.

New door job i'm afraid, once the main body of the door is pulled back the welds crack it is quicker to replace the door. Unless your going through insurance live with it. New door fitted your looking at €600+

That's what I was afraid of unfortunately. I don't want to claim off my insurance because it's not worth destroying my no claims bonus for a 10 year old car! Is there some kind of special scheme at Renault garages? Or elsewhere?
