Always Get DOMS

    Hi
I get really bad DOMS (Delayed onset muscle soreness) after every workout for about 2-3 days. So much so that I can bearly walk up the stairs. It is really impeading on my workouts too, I only feel up to training every 5 days because of it. Been lifting weights for about 10 months now. Strech before and after a workout and shower after. Is their anything else I can do to reduce/stop it or are some people more prone to it than others?

That doesn't sound right at all.

What does your work out consist of?

    Do you eat right?

Well for example yesterday I just did 3 routines, Squats, Bench and Curls.
    I do 5 sets, 1 x warm up, 3 x heavy train, 1 x burn out to failure.
I eat every 3 hours and always have at least 30 grams of protein with each meal. Any ideas?

I guess a quick fix could be getting something like RAM to help recovery?

Noted but why? Could this be the culprit?

I have a poster that has a list of them on it, cant list them all but there pretty comprehensive I follow them all before and after workout, well I do the past few months to try and reduce the DOMS.

I was having awful trouble with the DOMS in my legs for a few months. I'd do squats and stiff legged deads and every movement I made (getting outta bed, getting into the shower, moving off the couch) for four to five days after would hurt like hell. Especially day 3. Then I started doing squats three times a week and my DOMS are barely noticable these days. Maybe try doing the movements more often for a few weeks. This really helped me. I can't even describe the pain I was in!!

I found this too. If I haven't done SLDLs for more than about 5 or 6 days, or certainly if I leave it over a week, my legs and glutes will be in absolute bits for 3-4 days afterwards.

Don't got to failure on your last set and see what difference it makes, I'd imagine this could be a large part of your problem, as said already- Stretch

I don't mind DOMs too much, makes me feel like I worked hard!

If I know I will not be training for a few days I will go to failure and/or do heavy negatives, these always give me DOMs, I have come to know how long they will last too, depending on how much I do. I have DOMs right now in my arms, back & hest which will be gone tomorrow.
