What things remind you of BSG?

Have you read or seen anything recently that really reminded you of BSG?

For example, I read a short story callled "Second Variety". It's set in a post-apocalyptic future where machines, developed by humans, have waged war on us and started adopting human forms to infiltrate us. They're discovered but we don't know the identity of the final model and who they might be - sound familiar? I'm wondering if BSG ripped this off or is it pure co-incidence.

Any others with strong BSG flavours?

Any time i play Homeworld on the pc.

Also, there was this show in the late 70's, telling the galactic story of a Battlestar trying to escape some evil robots. The crew had to survive try and keep humainity alive on the last Battlestar, while trying to find a new home. I think it was called 'The Ship That Couldnt Slow Down'.

    Homeworld was a fantastic game!

Something odd reminded me of battlestar last night, I fell asleep but left the tv in my room on stand by, and i woke up around 5 with blurred vision the red dot looked quite big and for a split second in my hazy state I thought a centurion was looking at me.

Needless to say my senses returned, the light was turned off and I went back to sleep.

Humanoid machines bent on destroying the last remnants of humanity following nuclear holocaust? Terminator springs to mind :)

Incidentally, the story "Second Variety" is claimed to have influenced that series as well! Ah Philip K. Dick always ahead of his time.

whe i was building my model of the old Galatica i noticed how the design of it was clearly based on a reptile like a kimonio dragon or even a crocodile so they remind me of the ship whenever i see them on the telly!!

Yeh, the latest Terminator Salvation trailer seems to have a BSG flavour about it.

I passed a shiny metal toaster in the window of the Philip's store the other day and thought immediately of Cylons...

My new Ubuntu startup screen. The lit up piece blipping from side to side while the system boots reminds me of a Cylon's eye.

Was running around the Western Plaguelands in WoW last night (back on the virtual crack..) and picked up a quest "All Along The Watchtowers". Wee bit of a sad smile...

Had a playlist on random and Hendrixs' 'All Along the Watchtower' came on. Straight away I saw the final Times Square pan and the robots on the big screen in my minds eye and got a warm fuzzy feeling. Which is strange because I did really like the finale. Maybe I liked it but just got bogged down in all the plotholes and inconsistencies. Regardless.....I miss BSG.

Soon as I get a chance I am goind to rewatch the lot. Would you beleive I have only seen each episode once. I never rewatched even between seasons.

I know there are rules about not talking about 'spoilers' without tags in non-episode threads, but the series is over so it's very much a 'all bets are off' mentality - if you're behind for whatever reason perhaps it's best to avoid general Battlestar threads at least for a few months to let the glow of the finale cool off completely.

Walking along the top of the city walls in Dubrovnik last week, paused to take a few pics with a small bar just below me, with loud speakers which started playing "All along the watchtower". Bizarre, given I'd just spent an hour walking all along the watchtower, instantly thought of BSG.
