Quiet Sun Holiday

    Hi All,

The OH and I are considering holidays this summer (either early June or Sept) and would love to find somewhere really quiet. Not into clubbing, just chilling out by the pool, reading, walking, good food and wine, a relaxing getaway which will leave us feeling rested. Temperatures preferably below 30 degrees and somewhere in Europe would probably be handiest.

We went to Sardinia last summer and found it was perfect for all of the above but would like to try a different location this year if we thought it might provide the same atmosphere.

    All suggestions greatly appreciated.:)

Costa de la Luz or Costa de Almeria in Spain. Both accessible with Ryanair or most of the tour ops and off the beaten track enough to avoid lager louts.

Both locations have great beaches, quieter nightlife but are genuinely beautiful places.

May I suggest Malta? Its a lovely island that is eay to get around and there is lots to see and do. The food and wine are amazing and while we were there on the off peak season and found the prices to be excellent value Im sure the same can be said for high season.

There is one area in Malta that is for the nightlife and that is Paceville but anywhere other than that you should find it relaxing and suitable for couples.

    Ryanair fly from Dublin

Cheers guys, will check out all options mentioned. Have actually always wanted to visit Malta but wasn't sure if it would suit the kind of holiday I'm into.

I was going to suggest Sardinia..................

We were there last year also, North coast and Alghero, personally I love Dubrovnik. Very similar to Alghero but in my opionion it just shades it.

You might like Lagos in the Algarve in Portugal. It's full of restaurants, some bars but no clubs. It's on the Atlantic so slightly cooler than Spain. There is a lovely marina and it has a beautiful beach as well. We stayed in the Marina Club http://www.sunworld.ie/accommodation/portugal/p09a05.htm A wonderful hotel and keenly priced.
