    Can someone please let me know what sort of adaptor i will need for plugging into sockets in the Caribbean please?

    St Lucia use the same plug type as here so you should not need any adapters, you can thank the fact it's an old British colony.

    Some of the newer St Lucia resorts have double sockets, one "British" and one "US"
