Don't forget the requirement under the firearms legislation with respect to the sale of a moderator.

If you are making a private sale, you will need authorisation from your superintendent to make the sale, equally the person who purchases it needs an authorisaion to purchase.

I believe it is section 7 of the 1990 dangerous weapons acts.

There is no need for an authoisation to sell a moderator if you are a firearms dealer. It would be easier to get a Firearms Dealer to sell it on your behalf, might cost you a comission but worth it to avoid the hassle of getting an authorisation to sell!!!!

    No need for the scarcism!

I only pointed out a very important aspect of the firearms legislation in case you were not aware of it, remember ignorance is no defence!

Being so smart about it, you might let us know how easy it was to get the authorisation to sell the moderator and if your buyer got one easily also?

The same dealer that is threading my rifle handle the sale and there's also no need to be so nosey. Did you post in every thread on this forum where a poster mentioned they had a firearm and quote regulations and procedures for attaining a licence at them too???

I don't see you offering the newbies to our sport the depth of your wisdom.

I was the first, so my FO told me, to apply and get permission from my Superintendent for my moderators. As I'm sure many of you know from reading my posts here on these forums.
Now that the word is out many more license holders have followed suite and got permissions.

BUT in reality how many people that have mods also have perminnsion to own them?? I wouldn't think it's as many as it should be.

A friend was finded €400 and had his 223 taken from him, he can re-apply in 2 years, for using his mod but not having permission.

This is an area where there is a lot of misinformation, my first post simply offered advice and it looks from Cliv's post that it indeed worth while, you deteriorated the advice to being smart and cocky, why did you not simply respond by saying that you had a dealer handle the sale instead of ****ox about your car insurance?

Surely a new thread would have been the correct route to offering advice ??
IMO it reads like you were being cocky and trying to catch someone out here.
Please start new thread giving all the relevant correct information on buying/sellin/licencing of moderators.
