    If you're looking for martial arts in the Loughlinstown area; can't recommend these guys enough: www.nextgenerationireland.com

    Great standard of coaching and never met a member of the club I didn't like. ;)

    Try bujinkan.ie for clubs in your area. Bujikan has classical Japanese combat for modern times.

    Make a call, visit a class and ASK LOTS OF QUESTIONS!

    Be prepared to be told that it will take years of dedicated study to be good at all round self-defence. Once you realise that you can enjoy training and hopefully avoid the scumbags. (Fighting should always be last-resort).

    Hi

    I teach an adult class - mostly beginners in the loughlinstown community rooms on Thursdays from 6.30-8.30.

    Art is a hybrid consisting of elements of striking , locks and holds , weapons etc .

    Also the two clubs mentioned above would be excellent choices . Best of luck with whatever art you choose .

    Hey,

    I run YMAA Ireland and we are based in Newpark sports centre in Blackrock.

    We teach three main disciplines;

    Tai Chi Chuan - Famous for it's health benefits but is also a very effective martial art in it's own right.

    Shaolin Kung Fu - You will learn to punch, kick, lock and throw within a very comprehensive program, and will get super fit with regular attendance.

    Sanda - Essentially 'Chinese Kickboxing'. What distinguished this fighting sport from other forms of Kickboxing, is the fact that it is Full contact training with sweeps, reaps, lifts and throws added to the kicking and punching.

    You are welcome to come along for a free trail week at anytime. Check out our website http://www.ymaa.ie/trail_week.html.

    Please note we are currently seeking a full-time location to run our classes from but we will still be in the general area of Blackrock/Deansgrange/Stillorgan.

    I suggest you try as many as you can before settling down somewhere, unless of course you fall in love at first 'fight'!

    Goodluck with the hunt
