Bought alloys for me motor last year up the north in cookstown. there today i got a screw in a back tyre and went to change the wheel, i could nt get the spare on due to a "spacer" that was stick to the rim that holds the alloy. the spacer was put on to accommodate the new alloys, but i was never told the spare would nt fit, lucky i was at home when i noticed the air coming out. i cant get the tyre fixed till tomorrow but what am i suppose to do with having no spare wheel?

I always thought that the spacers were put on the rim rather than the hub??

Ah appologies, I'm confussing a balance weight on the rim with a spacer that goes on the centre of the hub. Forget my last post in that case.

if its the normal plastic spacers just use a bit of force and it should come off, i never had any bother with the spacers on my alloys before

Tyre weld is an aerosol that you attach to the valve of your punctured tyre and it temporarily re-inflates and seals it. A tyre place recently told me to leave the screw or nail in the tyre as the weld stuff can make it hard for them to find the hole. My local Tesco has it on offer at the moment. I believe some new cars have no spare, only tyre weld.
