Hi I have OCD and would like some advice.Part of my probelm is constantly seeking reassurance off my friends.I often text them to seek reassurance for really stupid reasons(like if there was no argument and we were all getting on well I would send them a few texts, these are called compulsions)I am closer to one guy and usualy text him.Do you think I would be driving them away doing this? They know I have OCD but no one wants to be with someone dragging them down right?I was in a great mood last night but when I got back I started to feel horrible and am sending them texts because I cant think of anything else other than questioning my behaviour
    sorry for the rant
    thanks for any advice

Yes, it is possible to drive people away by doing that. You have to remember that OCD is a disorder and you still have to learn to take control of it when you can identify somewhere in your life where it may be doing you harm. Why don't you go see a therapist or look into Cognitive Behavior Therapy for when you find yourself in social situations?

What you should do is, when you come home, turn your phone off and leave it with a parent or friend until the next day. It's not a solution but an idea against late night texting
