Please help, we are trying to decide where to go for our summer hols, probably 2-3 weeks in August, our sons 17 and 11yrs are coming and maybe our 21yr old daughter. Our problem is we haven't an idea where to go, tired of lying on a beach for 2 weeks with a bit of sightseeing. Feel also that the 17yr old needs to be entertained(he tends to be a bit wild so we encourage him to come with us) so looking for a mixture of maybe beach and activities, we have looked at sites offering raft building in Sweden or swinging from trees in America, safaris in Africa. Trying to find somewhere near a beach that maybe have unusual activities nearby. we would really appreciate some help, and would love to hear of other peoples experience of such a holiday(if one exists).

Hi and Welcome to Boards.ie :)

From your suggestions it may suggest that money seems to be is no object?

Is this correct as it would avoid people spending their time suggesting 'things out of budget'.

p.s. I wish you had been my mum:)

I wish!!! Actually was hoping that i'd get a few suggestions that would be cheaper than going to U.S. etc. as we are from Ireland. Origionally thought about few days in Orlando, and then elsewhere in U.S., but would cost too much!

Well i think it would be a fantastic opportunity for teens to go to america.. and for the family as well.. lots to do, great beaches, shopping, great theme parks, great weather. could rent a car and head of to wherever..
might be pricey but i know if i was a teen i would be delighted!

suncity in south africa is a great spot.loads of things to do for the teenagers and the adults. Its a bit expensive though.
there are some great campsites in southern france also with sun and activities.
mark warner and club med offer some great holidays aswel, the problem with club med though is the language barrier as its a french company.
Good luck im sure you will find somewhere and have a great time.
