    Cheers for the replies NGA and gerire!:)

    http://www.galleonsupplies.ie/products.asp?cat=Disposable+Gloves&subcat=Nitrile+Gloves&gclid=CKbf3vymupoCFZCD3gody1-BcA

    Standard issue; Loads of them in the stations; Well at the moment lets see howfar they go with this cutbacks stuff;

    I have however noticed if dealing with someone in a hospital all members take the gloves from the hospital rations;

    its probably to preserve their own utility belt stash rather than any other reason tho

    also it's because the ones we get issued are powdered on the inside, which keep your hands nice and dry, but also gets everywhere, white powder does not mix well with navy uniforms

    Best brand to use is TNT blue, Nitrile gloves.

    Have them in AGS and a lot of NAS use them too. Dont tear and comfortable to wear long use.

    +1

    For farming purposes!!!:D

    Have you not been reading the Tetra thread? It hasn't gone live yet.

    I dunno how anyone can say it's a load of dung, since it's not in use.

    It (Tetra) has been used by NC Division units for the past few years on trial.

    It's not the system that's been bought for the rest of the country though, and Nog has said numerous times he's not in the DMR.

    Listen to the experienced member (and I mean Cushtac).
    Read the Tetra thread. There was a trial in the DMR in the North Central, Eastern and Traffic Divisions. Also some of the specialist units.

    And this is OT. Ask any further questions on Tetra in the Tetra thread.

    Mods, I'm sorry.

    That one big pouch you get on your belt? The one that you'd presume is for the notebook.
    Well, I nabbed a spare one, and so have the two of them on my belt! So i just have the baton & cuffs on the right and then two big pouches to my back. Between the two of them there is loads of room for gloves, maps, bags and other assorted crap! I didn't think it was that great at first but now i'd highly recommend it just for the space to put stuff!

    I would be wary of carrying stuff on the back of the belt unless its very squishy like a lot of the stuff you mentioned. Hard stuff like extra cuffs etc could do your back a lot of damage if you fell on the items.

    They'd give us phasers before they'd ever consider Tasers. ;)

    Just buy a box of the regular nitrile for around 10 Euro & use two pairs if you don't feel confident using one.

    I dont use the utility belt. just the normal one. Two sets of cuffs towards the rear each side, asp on my right, key lanyard(with keys) on my left. Light and fast. Notebook goes into the vest pocket (without notebook cover) and also in vest pocket is a small leatherman+pens.

    I dont like being bogged down with loads of crap. Not good for running+arresting.

    So dont bog yourself down with crap on your utility belt........instead bog yourself down with crap on your normal belt and stab vest:D:D

    well most of the lads round my way have the utility belt (more weight) torch+holster, notebook in the black cover, cuffs, baton( in the issue holster), radio pouch, loads of random crap in the notebook puch, glove pouch etc

    distributing some of the load on to the vest makes a big difference when running. My cuff pouch are cut away jobs and are alot more snug fitting, baton holster is the asp one, again, fits alot better. dont like having things flopping about LOL :D

    You'll be issued with a n offical utility belt wit andcuff pouch, radio holder, first aid pouch, back support, notebook holder (or ticket holder as i knew it), light holder and an asp holder

    In turn to fill this you will be issued cuffs, asp, offical notebook, first aid stuff and a light.

    You'll end up buying some stuff but thats personal choice like magnum boots, leatherman multi tool, a proper flashlight!!, a back up flash light, spare cuffs, proper side break asp scabard etc etc

    I am just passed my medical for the GR/AGS,could anyone tell me what the GR issued utility belt is like,or is there such thing.Im due to start training in the next month or two.Just wondering if I am issued a utility belt what does it consist of.Thank you

    you get everything the full time lads get, same belt and all. you wont get issued with your uniform till phase 3 but you'll be fitted it on phase 1.

    you wont get issued with OC spray. (not in my stn anyway). usually given at the start of shift by the sgt and handed back at the end.

    Otherwise the exact same

    Plenty of reserves had uniform in my station during their training. They just wore blue eppulets instead of numbers
