Hey guys as the name suggests, am in the army. Love to do hill walking outside of the job as it is great to do it without any pressure. Was up again yesterday in Wicklow Mountains. Wondering though is there anywhere that does mountaineering or survival courses. Id be interested in doing something like this to improve my skills both as a personal thing and also i suppose to better me as a soldier to. Thing is id obviously have a small bit of knowledge on the subject so a beginners course would probably be a waste of my time. Anyone any suggestions

If your interested in survival/primitive living skills.
There is the recently formed Irish bushcraft club, it is nationwide and has regular gatherings. http://www.irishbushcraftclub.org/

There is also a place near Caherciveen in south kerry,The IPNA.
They have a range of courses and a free gathering 3 times a year. http://www.ipna.ie/

    Hope that's of some interest.
