Well Wilf was spotted, during filming, getting into the TARDIS, so he gets a trip in it at the very least!

at least its not someone that has to be introduced to the doctor all over again.

Could Donna be at the centre of some plot to regenerate the Master using the knowledge she has locked away inside her?

Pretty happy with the choice - I thought he worked well in the episodes he was in and was nice and grounded. There's also the advantage he won't swoon over the Doctor and not worship every bloody thing he does.

will he be the first male companion prime we will have in the new series? (I know Jack and micky tagged along for a while but they were both second fiddle to rose etc)

First male "proper" companion since Turlough left in ... '84 wasn't it? First male companion who can act since ... ooh err, that would be Harry Sullivan wouldn't it? Man I loved Harry. Himself and Sarah made such the perfect companion team; the loveable idiot Harry Sullivan who thought himself the dashing hero & Sarah Jana Smith, who was just awesome :D

What past tense? Sarah Jane Smith is still all kinds of awesome.

You're right though - outside of novels this is the first male companion since the dastardly duplicitous Turlough.. and before him it was the pyjama-clad Adric so we're owed a decent male companion like Harry or errrr... Jamie.

She is, but her stock fell a little when they retconned in Sarah's supposed unrequited love for the Doctor. It wasn't monumental, but I just like to think of Sarah Jane in her best-mates role with the Doctor, not the slightly pining one we got in in School Reunion (ignoring the series 3 finale for a tick :))
