    No.

    You may be slightly quieter.
    But no.

You have no extra range, not more accurate then most AEG's.

In a practical sense, no it's not.

    But if you like snipers.

Then yes, get what you like.

But airsoft is mostly about aggression.

You can't surge forward with a sniper.

Although people will post here of how they once took out a whole team while hiding in a bush.

    But yes, once.

where as with an AEG, i do that weekly.

I can't really see the point to snipers.
Yes they look nice, but that's all really.

    It's down to opinion really.

with the correct fieldcraft snipers are excellant.
    without it - crap.

In short stop thinking "shooter" - it doesnt work that way.
When used for forward intel snipers are very very handy.

as the guy above me says , its all down to opinion

    +1

Its all about stealth, timing and picking your shots.
There are a good number of people out there who have gone into the sSniper/Marksman role with great success.

from seeing people with snipers out in the sites if you are going to use a sniper you should also carry a secondary such as a full auto glock or even a MP5K as it would come in handy for when close up to some one :)

If you want to get one, maybe you should try an M14 or SL9. These are automatic and if you really like sniping you can just use them in semi. If you don't semi, on the SL9 for example, you can buy a few 470 round G36 mags and use it as an assault rifle. If you buy a bolt action and you don't like it you are stuck with it.

i think i would like airsoft sniping beacause i do target shooting with my .22 LR real gun and can hit something smaller than a bottlecap 70 yards away, but airsoft isn't like a real guns power so i might get a cheap airsoft sniper to see what its like is the steyur ssg any good or should i go for something like a m14 or m21

what kind of sniper would you recommend in the price bracket of up to €100 i was thinking of getting like a steyr ssg or a m24 or something and i would like it as powerful as possible (within the 328 fps limit) or has any one got one to sell ???

The thing about being a sniper in airsoft is that you need the patience of a saint. Understand that it may involve sitting in a bush for an hour, taking a shot, missing and then being unloaded on by a guy with a m249. But, don't let this put you off, if you have patience and good fieldcraft, you can be invaluable with intel gathering and tactical shooting. More than a few times i've sat in a tree gathering intel, letting the opfor think they've taken my whole team out, only to pick off their medic, bomb carrier, commander, etc.

    Horses for courses really

It depends. First you have to find a 98 scope mount.
Second: If its the DBoys 98 you have or want, I woundnt bother Sniping with it.
The force needed to push the bolt forward when loading makes it IMO too awkward to properly snipe with.
Also from experience with my Bro's 98, it can jam a bit with the shell, so you'd have to be Johnny on the spot to unjam it, or face the fire.
I do love the shell ejection though, it just feels.....right!!

However if you have/going for the Tanaka 98 thats a different story.

Well said.... Cant be emphasised enough to those new to the sport that want to snipe.
Basically if you put in the effort and skill, then you can start putting nothces on the butt of your rifle.

Sniping is for the patient definetly. Although I'm a support gunner myself, i do often find myself in sniping situations whereby i sit in a bush for a good half hour then get the perfect shot. That said, as soon as i pull the trigger everyone knows where I am due to the AEG motor noise and I end up with a face full of plastic. Thats where your sniper rifles come in. No motor, ****e all noise.

Do you know anyone that airsofts themselves because if you went to a game with them they might know someone with a sniper that will show you the ropes.
