    Hi everyone,

I've booked a holiday with my mom to Egypt for mid-May so i can dive and she can relax. We'll be staying in the Hilton Sharks Bay Resort, has anyone been there? If so, is the dive center good? And is there any info about activities etc?

Thanks a million in advance! :D

Here are some reviews from Tripadvisor

I haven't been there myself, I was in Sharm though, it's a lovely place. It will be getting quite hot in May so bring lots of suncream! You should do a tour to Cairo or Luxor while you're there, or Petra to see something different. You can do them by plane. If you do a search, you should find some other threads about Sharm.

Thanks a mill, i guess i was just looking for info from anyone who had been to that particular hotel?

Read the trip advisor stuff before i booked it. That website can be scary at times!!! lol!

Oh, and how much money do you think will be needed for tips etc?

me and my boyfriend were in Sharm this time last year. We couldn't believe how cheap everything was - between us we spent less than 500 euro on the rntire trip and hat included loads of trips! Can't remember how much exactly we spent on tipping but I think we'd give the waiters at the hotel around 2/3 euro and they seemed delighted with it!

Bring lots of euro coins for tipping, they like hard currency. A euro is a lot of money to them. I found it expensive to eat and drink in my hotel (Hyatt Regency) but found it much cheaper outside the hotel. If you're heading to Na'ama Bay, you need to get a taxi. You can haggle for these, you don't need to pay much at all.

Are you going on any trips? I would recommend Longwood's, they are they company we went to Cairo, Luxor and Petra with. http://www.longwoodholidays.co.uk/sharm/tours.htm
