Hi, will be holidaying in Scotland for a week in the summer and want to have a fairly decent plan of where to go/what to see and do etc in advance. Does anyone have any tips/good ideas? Walking and visiting historical sites and also the coast would be great. I hear that some of the castles are also a must-see!..

We'll be renting a car for about 5 days - the other 2 will be spent taking a brief look around Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Hopefully there might even be some sunshine at that stage - would be a welcome change from the weather here!!...thanks ;)

    Hey,
I wouldnt bother going to Glasgow (Utter Kip) and would spend two days in Edinburgh, see the castle, arthurs seat, soak up the atmosphere in princes street gardens, then head on to Fife and Inverness with a detour deep into the highlands to see what nature gave scotland, and sample various free tastes of Whiskey in small distilleries en route:D.

East coast is where its at:cool:.
