i signed on last october and got temp work in december until end of the month so about 4 weeks, mostly weekends and about 8 hours a week. So i tried to change from full time JBA to part time.

They kept saying they would get back to and eventually told me after 2 weeks that i was only working another 2 weeks before i was gonna be unemployed again so it wouldn't be worth it with the backlog problems and how busy it is for xmas(they basically close down). So didn't hear from them again and went on claiming up to now.

I just got a job this week and was going to ring them yesterday to sign off but i got a letter today saying that they were informed that i was working around xmas and everything would have to be reviewed.

Anyone know what there going to do?? and i only did what i was advised to do by them.

:o I'm so sorry... that doesn't sound good. I would recommend going to the citizens advice bureau and finding out.

At least you've got a job though :) . Did you keep names and dates of people you spoke to? Something most of us forget (me included) but soooo important. I hope they figure out it was their own mistake. Did they tell you what the process would be or who you could contact for further information? Go into your dole office and ask them there.

Not as a big a problem as you think. Social Welfare have probably just been informed by revenue that you were working (there is usually a bit of a time lag with this). All you need to do is reply in writing, detailing the dates you were working, and any other information you want to give. It is best you do this in writing, so that it will be on record. They probably have all the information you already give them anyway, but often these forms are sent out without someone checking your claim to verify the dates.

Nothing major at all. Don't worry!

yeah a mate of mine was in a very similar situation and he just didnt bother to sign off and kept collecting for a few weeks. they got back to him with some sort of repayment plan, nothing too bad, €10 or €20 per week i think. wouldnt worry.
