How come Enterprise in the UK don't supply hire out booster seats?

The one I have wont fit into carry on luggage which I was prepared to do, so now I have a car booked and no seat for the child.............

Can I go to the Hertz desk for instance and ask to hire one of their car seats? Or would I have to have a car booked with them (which in this case there was no availability btw)?:(

Are you sure they don't supply booster seats?
    It would be fairly unusual?
Could you try and give the office where you're picking up the car a phone call?
They may have one, but it may not show up on the website!

I already rang them as I was booking because I couldn't find it on the internet, but she said they don't do them.

Mind you Im going to ring them again just to be sure.

If they can't do a booster seat for you, personally I'd be taking my business elsewhere.
Where in the UK will you be renting from?
I got a car through http://www.holidayautos.ie when going to France, and specified I needed a baby seat and a car seat. Ended up getting them no problems.

Hang that! Depending on the age of the child, and the airline policy, you're usually allowed a buggy and or travel seat! Can you check with the airline?

Travelling with ryanair and you have to pay extra to bring it along with you, and I'm not checking in a booster seat on its own! It wont fit into the hand luggage.

Is it possible to bring it as an extra hand luggage item? Have read their policy but im confused...do you have to check it in or what do they mean?

double checked with Enterprise and they don't hire out seats for legal reasons - so they said.

Do you have to hire from Enterprise? Is it too late to hire from someone else?

Nothing else available, when I went to book Hertz online, Avis office is closed when I arrive so that leaves Enterprise.

I am going to ring Hertz in the city tomorrow and see if they do a drop off service - bring the car to the airport instead of me having to go to city at 10 pm at night for the car........

Boy, do I regret getting cheap flights now!!:(

    Which airport is it?

What is very surprising that in a country where you have to have child seats for kids under 5 that Enterprise don't offer them with the car !

    Liverpool.

Anyway, have now resorted to checking in one large case containing booster seat and kids clothes, leaving 2 carry on trolley cases to bring home stuff in.

Am so stressed out at this stage about size of trolleys and lack of availability of cars and no booster seats with Enterprise (the only ones that still had a car:rolleyes:Iwonderwhy), that I've decided to pay out the extra 20 (presuming its 10 each way under the manage my booking heading).

Alamo and Eurocar are also available in Liverpool and both offer child/booster seats.

Thanx for that. Didn't know about Alamo, but just tried online and only seats up to age 5 show up on the online booking. Pity I didn't know about them sooner - ive just checked in baggage to carry the booster seat.

Will leave things as they are now.

Thanks to everyone for your help and kindness.

With regards to trolley cases, will let ye know how I got on when I get back.
    (Wednesday).

    Happy Easter:D
