FF VII was just released on Japanese psn. Its designed to be played on psp as well like other psone releases on psn. Its the International version which is basically a Japanese version of the American release.

Its in Japanese and has no english language option so no point downloading. Though there might be a chance of release on US PSN in future. I already own the game on disc but wouldn't mind a digital copy for backup.

It costs ¥1,500 on Japanese PSN.

PSN could be a good tool for SQUARE ENIX to milk some cash from old psone RPGs without making crap spin-offs.

I doubt we'll see it in the west due to publishing issues. EA in america and Sony in Europe published the games and own the rights so it won't be worth the effort to release it in the west more than likely. Square Enix have already released a few of there games on PSN like the awesome einhander and Chrono Cross and they have yet to make it over here. So don't hold out. Anyway there's better RPG's but thats a different kettle of ball parks.

Yeah i'd like to try xenogears at some stage. Pity there is legacy publishing deals preventing digital distribution of psone RPGs made by SquareSoft.
