I got quoted €30 per hour and €30 per hour for use of the car. Is that not a bit much?

normal price best of my knowledge is about €30-€40 (which includes car and instructor)

Shop around and get a better deal !!! .... no way should you pay €60 for a driving lesson.

Mine were €285 for an offer of 6 X 1.5 hour lessons in the instructors dual control car. Then €50 for a single 1.5 hour lesson in your own car after, not sure if that would be a little more expensive in the instructors own dual control car.

You should be able to get a 1 hr lesson for about €35. If you're quoted more try and negotiate, €60 for an hours lesson is way too high.

I'm currently paying €35 for a one hour lesson.

Ditto, I'm paying €35 an hour for a 1 hour lesson from A-plus in north Dublin. Only had one lesson so far from a nice guy, quite relaxed and straight to the point ("you were sending Morse code signals to the car behind when stopping there"). Their website mentions student discounts but he didn't offer me one, not gonna quibble over it though.

OP find somebody else. I pay €40 an hour in Cork. That seems to be standard price here. €60 is for an hour and a half usually.

I paid €190 for 5 lessons (using my own car).

Won't be using that firm again as I failed on left and right turns and NOTHING was ever said to me about this. All I got was "you are a very good driver, and you'll pass easily". I'm convinced my driving was of an equal standard on the day.

I paid €35 for a 1 hour lesson - first few were in instructors car and the rest in my own car, there was never any mention of different cost for using different car and I've never heard of any instructor charging less or more for using their car/your own car.

Car lessons are around 30 euros alright. Lessons in rigids can be up to 120 euro and artic 150. So when you put it into perspective!(for 2 hours of course):D

Driving lessons in an instructors car range from €30 to €40 on average, if you are paying more then look on the internet for a better price at €60 i feel you are being taken for a ride literally.

The larger schools seem to be the more expensive ones, anything over 40eur is way over priced, shop around and you will find the majority are between 30eur and 40eur, I am an ADI instructor, so pm me if you need any further advice;)

I paid forty euro a lesson and used my own car! But whatever, don't care if I was ripped off 'cause it was worth it in the end! Sixty euro is a bit extreme though!

Way too much, also thats the first time I've ever heard of it costing extra to use instructor car. Any of the schools or any private instructors I've ever checked with it has been a set price for lesson no matter whose car is being used. The only time I can think you would pay for car is if taking it for your test.

I have been shopping around for Lessons the past while as the funds have been low. I heard of a site advertised on the radio where you can enter the amount that your willing to pay for lessons. I found it brilliant, they were very quick to reply, plus i started my lessons 2days later at €28 a lesson. I got a lovely female instructor as I requested! SUPER :D:D:D So i'd advise you to shop around.
PM me if anyone wants info on the site.
