    Hi all.

Just wondering how many of us here fly ?

    I've a PPL (A) - working towards my CPL (A) & instructor rating.

Was thinking about maybe some kind of meet-up some time, put a few faces to names, somewhere handy so that people could drive in too.

Yeah, I am, we recently had a similar gig up in EIAB - was a great day with a big turnout.

Im up to 7 hours of my PPL now in the trusty Tomahawk :) Failed my medical though so will only ever be for fun :) NZ is an amazing place to have fun with GA though, scenery blows my mind every day and its very cheap to fly compared to Europe.

No point Aer Arann have put their next TR course out to August, when I last heard. Only Ryanair are taking on anyone but even that was delayed a bit.

Student heli pilot with about 50 hours. Just passed all my exams, was suppose to have done the flight test last week but the cloud base dropped to 650ft so it wasnt happening. Just want my PPL(h) for fun. No plans to go on to CPL.

I was at that too........I was the one that was clicking away with the camera with 6 year old son in tow. Pics available in this month's FII:p:cool:.I've done some flying over the past 20 years or so (Cessna 150, C172,Rallye) but health issues mean that I cannot become a ppl holder.

May never fly again. Too damned expensive.

Have been planning it for years but things seem to get in the way. The latest hitch is me going to Australia in July for a year, so I'll be doing the LPL when it starts in April 2011 :D

You could get loads of your PPL done in Australia for cheap!

    What's a Frozen ATPL?

    What's a Frozen ATPL?

It's when you have all the ATPL exams done but less than 1500 hours of flying experience.

Is that not a CPL with ATPL knowledge credit? An ATPL requires a minimum of 500 hrs multi pilot operation and a LST!
    Just curious.

Yes but isn't that a bit of a mouthful? So everyone refers to it as a 'frozen ATPL'. It's not an official title.

When I held a CPL, it was just that a CPL!
    Nothing more nothing less.
