Is there much of a difference between the texture of each contact. . because I was just gonna order them online off the specsavers website. . save me a bit of money. . Would this be advisable or should I go in for a fitting?

Ive been wearing dailys for about 2 years now and never had any problem with them btw. . It's just monthlys work out so much cheaper! :D

I would go in and get a trial pair to see if they are comfortable, remember with monthly lenses you need solution as well, you also have to clean the lens and store it in a small case overnight. dailes are much more convenient but monthlies are cheaper :)

I'd definitely advise getting a fitting.I just changed to monthlies this week in Specsavers after using dailies for years. The monthiles are the same brand as the dailies. They feel the same, just a bit thicker. I was given a free fitting and trial pair and told to come back in a week wearing them so they could put dye in my eyes to make sure the lenses suit. They have a few types of monthlies so it's handy to get a free trial before you buy.

I'll be buying from yourlenses.ie though.€40 for a 6 month supply (excluding solution) as opposed to €80 in Specsavers.

You need to try the monthlies as there is always a certain (small)percentage of people who will reject a change of lenses as they don't suit your eyes.

Check out daysoftlenses - very cheap dailies. Obviously you're going to have to discuss it with an optician and have them checked by him/her but worth considering imo. I had no problem dealing with daysoftlenses when I ordered from them and they were very quick to answer my subsequent e mail query too.

Hey OP, I started off with monthly contacts when i first got contacts, and due to having v sensitive eyes i was advised to try dailies. I have to say i find the dailies much more comfortable and convenient and worth the extra money. I'd say get a trial with the monthlies to see how u find them :D

Go for a fitting, not only as the monthlies will be slightly thicker and heavier (still comfortable) but because they should explain how to clean em, store em etc. etc.
