Wedding Album - What To Include?

My sister got married last year and wasn't overjoyed with the photographer's results.
Personally, I was disgusted, as all the shots seem to have been taken by his sidekick, from a side angle, so they're no better than what most of the guests got.

I took a lot of pictures myself and some of them are useable.

I wanted to compile a photobook, to give them for their first anniversary, so I was wondering what to include.

    Pictures from start to finish?
Just pictures from the ceremony, cake cutting at the reception, etc?
Or the works! Party pics, friends, family, comedy, tears, the lot?

    How much is too much?

Thanks in advance for your opinion.
    P.

The works, though as a sibling they'd probalby appreciate the more candid, funny tearful sentimental ones knowing they were that little bit more personal

You should include from all parts of the day, key ones such as candle, rings and vows are necessity, i'd be surprised if the pro didnt get them.

Make sure though the album is in the order of the day and try to keep to day shots rather than drunken evening shots.

I mostly do the whole day. It would depends on the type of album they choose though.

    The lot...simple as.

    Thanks for the responses, guys.
smelltheglove, the pro got all the shots, but too many of them were taken by his tag-along, so the couple are looking at the wrong camera.

The one's I'll use are where they're looking at eachother, or the priest, or whatever.
That way it won't look so bad.
Have about 100 images that I'll whittle down.

These are some you should include:

    At Home

    Parents
Bridesmaids singly (head and shoulders + full length)
    Bridesmaids as a group
    Bride and bridesmaids
    Bride and chief bridesmaid
Bride and family inc. brothers and sisters
    Parents and bride
    Mother and bride
    Father and bride
    Brothers/sisters and bride
    Parents and bridesmaids
    Extended family

    At the church and afterwards

    Groom's arrival
    With best man
    With best man + ushers
Best man and ushers on their own
    Groom with immediate family
    Groom with parents
    Groom with brothers/sisters
    Groom's parents as a couple
    Groom with grandparents
Groom head and shoulders, half and full length
Best man head and shoulders and full length
Groom and best man waiting in pew
    Arrival of bridesmaids
    Bride's arrival
Waiting to enter church with father and bridesmaids ...
    Walking up the aisle
Father "handing over" the bride to the groom
The wedding ceremony - lighting the candle, putting on the rings, etc
The group on the altar after the ceremony
    Walking down the aisle
    Exit from the church
Couple being mobbed, candid, outside church
Group shot (the most difficult of the lot! Forget it if the crowd will not co-operate)
    Confetti throwing
Various family groups with the B&G
    Couple in bridal car
    Departure of the B&G
Various "romantic" shots at a picturesque location
Couple full, half-length, head and shoulders, including front, side and back views
    Head and shoulders of bride
    Head and shoulders of groom
Special photographs recording the bouquet, rings etc
Full and half-length versions of individual bride and groom
Cutting the cake at the reception
    Toasting each other with champagne
Later in the evening, the bride crying in the corner while the groom is blind drunk and fighting (I live in hope)

    Thanks for the tips.
Carrigman, I had to work with the pics I had, so couldn't comply with your detailed list.

I got the book done by Photobox.
    It turned out brilliantly!

A3 in size, hardcover, with a photo on the front and a small photo on the back.
    Both looked really impressive.
The quality of the printing and binding was excellent!
It was very easy to create on their website.
Very happy with the end product and I'll definitely use them for my next wedding.

Nice to see their stuff is coming out nice again as in the past it has been somewhat crap.

Well done for adding the images together as I am sure your sister will be a happy bunny :D

The postage on the package seemed to indicate that the book had come from France, not the UK. The quality really is top notch though.
Good heavy paper, nice vibrant prints.

One drawback is the layout restrictions.
I would would have liked to have full page, edge to edge prints on a few pages.
