Missed Dental Appointment

I missed a dental appointmnet today. I was booked in for 1 hour as I needed a lot of crown work done. My appointmnet was for 3pm but due to unforseen circumstanes I phoned the dentist at 3:30 telling them I was unable to attend, and they made me another appointment.

I was wondering what's the general practice here? I feel very bad that the dentist was probably hanging around for one hour doing nothing. I feel like I should pay to cover the cost for this lost hour. I know they won't ask me to pay, but I feel I should. I don't know how much either. What do others think?

i presume they will charge you.

policy at my dentists is to charge for cancellations within 24 hrs notice or no-shows.

i would expect this t be common practice.

you'll probably be charged when you go for next appointment.

i odnt know how much they'll charge though.
