Ringmaster Richard 'The Juggler' Palmer will be over in X-Music at the Red Cow on Sunday the 3rd of May with his attractive assistant, me.

He'll have all the new SSL Shizit inc -

    http://www.solid-state-logic.com/music/Xlogic%20X-Desk/index.asp

    http://www.solid-state-logic.com/music/Xlogic%20MX4/index.asp

Version 3 Duende software including the deadly X-Verb (based on a well known 'Classic' Reverb, allegedly)

and Pro Convert for Mac on display.

I know SSL is of limited relevance to some guys but Richard is also an experienced recording engineer (having recorded some music for the Bond Film, Golden Eye amongst others) plus he's good craic, so come out for the yak if nothing else.

V3 looks interesting as it can share some of it's work load with the host computer when needed, thereby avoiding some of the FireWire bottlenecks.

Also the x- verb I think is going to be a monster.

Perhaps the circus master himself might like to clarify?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,759 ✭✭✭Neurojazz

Oh, load sharing - sounds perfect as a second FW device on this computer would have to be chained, and i'm not sure it would be happy... already have powercore and sounds cards on separate FW cards to keep machine happy. (that's a total of 3 separate ports) meh.

Support at Digital Village told me to ditch the Duende and get a better powercore... needless to say i slapped them with a kipper.

Neuro......which Duende do you have at present.....is it a Classic?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,759 ✭✭✭Neurojazz

    Yes a classic

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 20 RichardP@SSL

In which case, when you upgrade using the free V3 software you will have access to 64 processing slots........just think of all those Bus Compressors! (Duende V3 requires Intel Core 2 (or equivalent power processor for PC owners) or Intel Mac based (for Mac owners) additionally for a limited time you could upgrade it to 128 processing slots for £129+VAT

    More info at http://www.solidstatelogic.com/news/article.asp?ID=146&T=M

The V3 software also includes a demo of our latest reverb plug X-Verb

    Available May 2009

Richard 'Ricky' Palmer of SSL will fly in from a great height to land upon X-Music next Sunday the 3rd of May.

As any of you who have attended his last 2 visits at X will know he's a laid back experienced man with a great history as a recording engineer working at the top level.

He was also a Lecturer in Audio Technologies.

This combination of real word recording experience with the communication skills of a Academic makes him an ideal representative for a brand such as SSL.

As I've mentioned before, perhaps part of what SSL do is out of reach for some - however, as I've also said, the principles are exactly the same if you're in Abbey Road or a bedroom in Abbeyshrule

If you're around this weekend at a loose end please pop out for what will be a very interesting showcase of -

    http://www.solid-state-logic.com/music/Xlogic%20X-Desk/index.asp

    http://www.solid-state-logic.com/music/Xlogic%20MX4/index.asp

Version 3 Duende software including the deadly X-Verb (based on a well known 'Classic' Reverb, allegedly)

and Pro Convert for Mac on display.

We'll be knocking about from mid morning ....
