Amazon shipping electricals to Republic of Ireland again

    The above has been reported on the "Bargain Alerts" forum of Boards.

    I was about to buy a laptop and this might allow a little more choice and, maybe, a better price.

    AFAIK, Amazon are now charging the Irish VAT rate to customers from the Republic of Ireland and this is what allowed them to sell here again.

    I haven't bought computer equipment from them yet but I understand that we'll be hit with the Irish VAT when we go to pay at checkout on the site.

    There will be no customs tax once VAT is paid within the EU.

    I'd be glad to hear details of any bad experiences with them as I would consider buying from them if the price was right.
