Anyone been and if so can you offer tips/recommendations?

Also what is the easiest/safest way to get from Phi Phi to Krabi?

    Thanks

    Hi,

Spent a night in Krabi last summer. Not much to do there really I found. A few little thai restaurants and shops on the main strip (which has really cool ornate street lights!). But overall a quiet enough place with not much to do/see I found.

Easiest way to get there from Phi Phi is to get a boat, then a taxi from the pier into the town.

    Hope this helps..

krabi is not very nice from my experience( spent the night trying to get a ladyboy to leave me alone) , not a place to go for a few drinks even though there is an irish bar, its just a stopover town for phi phi. stay on phi phi or go to raleigh which is not far from krabi! easiest way is a boat, about 300+ baht i think

oh and it can be dangerous there, 2 girls i met in vietnam told me they got held up by gun point and robbed.

Jesus, guess that's off the list so! Was just looking for somewhere near/on way to phi phi to stop off for a few nights...

Railay beach would probably be your best bet. Didn't stay there myself but a lot of people I met travelling around Thailand did and said it was a nice spot.

Alternatively just hop on the boat when you hit Krabi and you'll be on Phi Phi in around 3 hours or so if I remember rightly.

Of all the places I stayed travelling around Thailand Phi Phi was definitely my favourite and the place I stayed longest at. One of the most chilled out and fun places I've ever been. After being in Bangkok and Phuket for a while, the peace of no go go bars and guys trying to push you in, no roads meaning no traffic, tuk tuk calls etc was heavenly ;)

Of all the places i've been Phi Phi was definitely my favourite, stay there as long as possible! Check out carpe diem for food and head on to hippies bar afterwards for the fire show and savage music...

Didn't have any problems in Krabi myself. It's a fairly quite place tourism wise though.

A very typical Thai town really.

Cheers for the replies guys. Reckon I might give Krabi a miss, been looking on net and doesn't seem there's a whole lot going on there. Interested to head to places with other people and meet fellow travellers so reckon I'll head from Phuket to Phi Phi and stop off at Railay beach along the way.
