I just heard that the government is lowering the tax bracket to include people earning 15k a year and it will be a 2% levy. Does anyone know if this includes those of us on grants or are we exempt from that sort of thing?

I would imagine* that scholarships are exempt from the levy. They are always referred to as 'Tax Free' scholarships, but up until now tax wouldn't have been paid on them anyway, as the amount earned is too low. Now they will really mean "Tax Free".

*Just for what it's worth, if it does apply to a EUR16,000 scholarship, you'll be paying €320 a year on the Levy. That's €6.15 less per week.
