Losing myself in those moments of insanity
Seems oh so very natural.
Several voices shouting over each other
One reminding me of those around me,
One yapping about my insecurities,
One roaring over my past,
One whispering into my ear about the subtleties,
Mad hatters the lot; restless, jumping.

The more sinister notions occur when I am alone:
Flashes of my own demise, always at my own hands.
A decrepit man rakes his crane across my mind,
He talks in a concrete churning tone
Telling me of a disjointed reality.

Sanity is a solemn character
He rarely speaks his words of wisdom
Because they are quickly drowned out
By the traffic of my life.
