Does anybody apart from Sidi (and when I say apart from, I kind of mean, cheaper than) make shoes that come in multiple widths, or just generally run on the wide side?

Nike seems to have a wider fit for cycling shoes.

Specialized are wide, that is what I use myself. Shimano sandals are plenty wide, not sure about their shoes though.

    Shimano shoes are wide.

Hmmm, dunno about that. The bottom of the range Shimanos I have are far from wide and any of the more expensive ones I've tried have a similar fit.

Standard Sidi shoes are not particularly wide either, but they do a MEGA shoe that is wider. If you find a shop around Dublin that stocks these then let me know as I've had no luck finding one myself. Shimano do a wide fit for their heigher end shoes too (the model has an E suffix I think) but haven't been able to find these locally either.

    Must try Specialized for size...

Seriously though, tried a pair of DMTs at the same time as the Shimano and standard Sidi, didn't notice any difference in width. Suppose it depends on what you consider wide. Plus I have funny shaped feet.

Sidi has a range of 'Mega' shoes, which are a wide fit.

    GENIUS 5.5 CARBON MEGA
    ZETA MEGA
    GENIUS 5 MEGA

Wooops! You're right, it was actually northwaves I was thinking of!!! Sorry. Tried on a pair of northwaves a while back and it was like the shoe wasn't even on my foot it was so wide.

Anyone know what shops in Dublin region stock Northwaves?

Cycleways do,I find them v.expensive for accessories like helmets and shoes, I'd defo be trying for size there and looking on the web, guarantee there'll be a big price difference!

    Slane cycles look competitive

I know Cycleways used to... I tried on a pair once but for the life of me can't remember the size. They were either (a) the same or (b) a size up from my Specialized... or (c) a size down from my Specialized. Hope that helps :) Width was fine though.

Thanks for info. Will probably call into Cycleways to try Specialized anyhow, so I'll try Northwave as well.

    Just checked their website...pricey alright!
