That is the third PSP2/PSP4000 mock up I have seen in as many months.

If even the specifications are close I can't wait, but I doubt very much if it will look anything like the 'artists impressions'

Not going to be 2 D pads, but 2 analogue nubs.......allegedly.

I would expect there to be some sort of official announcement at E3 in June if the rumours have any foundation.

Unfortunately for us, all you will get from Sony until E3 is a firm "NO COMMENT!"

That particular mock-up has been doing the rounds for a few years. I doubt it will look anything like that.

sorry i meant 2 analogue sticks.

apart from everything else allegedly included in the new PSP, if the dont put the 2 analogue sticks then they need their heads examined. i dont understand why the current PSP doesnt have it. trying to play COD with only one stick is the worst experience of my life (well not really but i have to say it for dramatic effect)

Yeah, I remember the various mock ups over the years of everything from the Playstation and Xbox to the MegaCD and DS.
I reckon we'll just have to wait and see.
A much easier bet than predicting how it looks is to muse on what features Sony will put into it to make it compete with the DS.
Dumping the media seems a must, a touch screen and accelerometers also sho-in's.
Some sort of proprietary cart or mem stick format should be on the cards, together with better integration with the PS3.
We'll all just have to wait and see, and ponder what on earth Sony are going to do when they are playing catch up with the DS and Nintendo release a proper sucessor to the DS and Wii in a couple of years!

The shape and button layout of the PSP would have to be drastically changed in order to properly utilise two analogue nubs/sticks. Think about it, if the current PSP had two nubs you wouldn't be able to hold it comfortably while using them. The shape would have to be changed to something resembling a "traditional" control pad, which kinda throws the portablility out the window. I'd be very surprised to see two analogue nubs, it's more likely they'll copy Nintendo and Apple and go all touch screen/motion sensing in my opinion.

What i would be looking for is

1.that when they are making it someone actually picks it up and plays it!!! the original PSP couldnt have been played by anyone with normal sized hands i know it is the most difficult controller/console to play it gives me ridiculous pains up my thumbs and wrists. so much so i only use it now to watch TV on the road.

    2. 2 control stick i dont mind if its analog or digital as long as there is 2

    3. an internet browser that actually works and doesnt give an error not enough memory!!!!

    4. Digital Free to air TV tuner ( not much use here yet but a must i think) even as an add on.

    5. Anti glare screen so you know you can actually see the screen during the day light hours

    6. ability to hook it up to a larger screen

    7. Games on cartridge/memory stick rather than disk, makes far more sense for both size and batery life

Basically they should get the PS3 controller cut it in half stick a screen in the middle and patch it all up nicely. ( or at least release a clip on controller handle to make it more comfortable.
