+1 I have one and they are well worth the money. Have walked into a few kicks and punches and they protected the gnashers well.

You could get one molded to you teeth ! Here are a company that will send you out a full pack to mold it. Dvd instructions.all you have to do is make the mold and post it back. They are really good. and good value for money. It costs about 45 euro. Compare to I got one made in Waterford and that cost me 70 euro !

The gumshield I got from http://www.opro.com/ has lasted me over 6 years. A quality moulded gumshield is one of the most important investments you can make as a martial artist.

I'd second Cowzerp, I find the Shock Doctor gum shield very good. The sports part of Heitons often sell them at very good prices, less than a tenner if I remember correctly

try some dif one depending on wat sport ya do
the doc shocks are good but they need a bit of modifing
i my self have the moulded one for fights and cheap ones for sparing in mt

It varies on youself, most people use shock doctor from what I see at events, but a few people go the custom route and swear by them. The only thing is they are well expensive and can be thrown into the crowd in the heat of the moment like at the last tribal warfare :pac:

Like waterfordkick said gumsheilds.com are IMO the best by a mile and as long as you don't throw it into the crowd :D, well worth the money!!

a word of warning if you are going the moulded, dental route.

Do not have a protein shake for breakfast and then straight to the dentist to get the mould done.

I made this mistake several years ago and it was a messy affair once my gag reflex had kicked into overdrive and pretty embarrassing as they had left me on my own in the room and came back to find me making a pathetic attempt at cleaning myself up:D

Shock Doctor are good but I've been using a Brainpad lately.

You can breath through clenched teeth and the jaw is positioned to not transmit shoc to the noggin, less concussions can only be a good thing!
