    Feel free to post up any results you know of. Some surprising ones already below.
    Personally I thought Naas would do well given their strength and depth in Junior Cup last year, although I know Lucan are strong. Would've thought Mullingar would do well again too.

    Barton Cup - Preliminary Round:
    Skerries bt Howth;
    Royal Tara bt Dundalk 3/2;
    Co. Longford bt Mullingar 3/2;
    Castle bt Grange Castle 4/1;
    Lucan bt Naas 4/1;
    Edmondstown bt Foxrock 4/1;
    Woodenbridge bt Glenmalure 3.5/1.5;
    Enniscorthy bt Seafield 3.5/1.5;
    The Heritage bt Millicent 3/2;
    Newbridge bt Portarlington 3.5/1.5
    First Round:
    Moate through to Round 2 (Highfield W/O);
    Tullamore bt Esker Hills 3.5/1.5;
    Newlands bt Hibernian;
    Dun Laoghaire bt Boystown 4/1;
    South County bt Dublin Mountain 4.5/0.5;
    Carrickmines bt Dublin City 3.5/1.5;
    Powerscourt bt Druid’s Glen 4/1;
    Bray bt Roundwood 4/1;
    Kilkenny bt Mount Juliet 3/2;
    Woodlands bt Rathsallagh 4.5/0.5

    Metro Cup First Round:
    Milltown bt Foxrock 5/4;
    Kilmashogue bt Glen of the Downs 6/3

    Provincial Towns Cup Round 1:
    Blainroe bt Wicklow 5.5/3.5

    My neighbour informs me that Kilkenny beat Mount Juliet with a putt in the last match on the 18th (in Mount Juliet) for a 6.... don't you just love inter-club :)

    We (BlackBush) beat Killenbeg 5-4 with a putt on the 18th in the provincial towns on Easter Sunday.

    hobart - is the blackbush your home course?
    have played there on a good few occasions
    not a bad course even if is a little up-down-up-down at times
    is it still 27 holes?

    It is my home course, still 27 holes. They are in the process of some redesign on it as we speak. The main course (A+B) are a real good test, Par 73, 7100yrds and it's really best played in the spring/summer months when you can see the full maturity of the course. There are maybe 2-3 holes that can be described as "up and down", but personally speaking, I think it's hard to avoid in most club courses. It also boasts probably the best greens in Meath at the moment, and has Opens on every Wednesday (that's my plugin finished :D)

    i'm always wary of a course with more than 18 holes
    why not concentrate on getting it right over 18?
    or perhaps blackbush achieved that first off and moved on
    worth a visit tho IMO

    I think the "main" course (A+B) are a really good test tbh. We use the C Course quite a lot. We have currently 1000 members, and while it's not that hard to get on the time sheet, the times between 8am and 10:30am are at a premium. For those of us with families etc who like to play early on a Saturday or Sunday, the extra 9 gives us the opportunity to play 18 at a convenient time of our choosing, and to get home at a reasonable hour. I'm biased, but I don't think the additional 9 takes away anything form the course, and as we own the land, we can put it to further use if and when the time arises.

    Extra holes, whether just a few, a third nine or a second 18 altogether are always a great thing to have IMO. I've always enjoyed Blackbush and have played all 27 holes.

    The Grange have a few spare nice ones they interchange with the normal 18 sometimes, obviosuly Headfort has two great courses, Enniscrone made some great changes with new holes...

    Besides, when there's a comp on and you just want to bash a few balls around for an hour I'm sure the third 9 comes in very handy indeed!

    I'm not that surprsied. Rathfarnham is a pokey little course and they had 3 matches at home.

    Barton Cup is renouned for more established clubs with broad panels of players to chose from being caught out by smaller clubs with a lean, mean bunch of category one and two players.

    The funny thing about making that video on Saturday is that I drove like a baboon on Sunday (mostly, but we got up and down like God...) so there you have it folks, video analysis is bad, m'kay?

    Glenmalure is a tough draw in inter-club... tricky (being very kind here) place to have to go... would have expected Enniscorthy to be strong too?

    Corrstown did beat Malahide in the Barton Cup. I played for Malahide and we had a bit of a disaster. Beaten at home 3 and 2 and for the 16 holes we actually didn't get the ball in the hole once. We'd a terrible putting performance and you ain't gonna win any matches doing that..

    Bitter disappointment after reaching the semi finals last year too

    Yeah, I played away. Was 4up at the turn but the wheels came off [understatement of the year there] when it started to rain. My opponent rattled off 5 pars in a row whereas I started to melt and ran up a number of bogeys. We were level walking to the 16th tee when we got word that the match was over.
