318ci 27.6mpg, too low?

    Hey guys,

    I have a 2003 Bmw 318ci 2.0 petrol, The computer is saying i get 27.6mpg, i mainly drive around cork and rarely go on long trips. is this MPG too low?

    No, it's about right actually.

    Funnily enough, my sis-in-law changed from a 318 to a 323 last year and found........the 323 used slightly less !! I think the smaller engines are, in fact, too small for those cars, and are working overtime........the larger engine has an easier life, less stress, and so is economic.

    Agreed.
    My '00 with the older 1.9 rarely went over 30mpg, usually hovering around 27-28mpg. Driving was about 90% city/urban.
