No polls here in a while. Here is a new one.

What amp brand do you own? If you have more than one, then select the one that you favour most in your collection. I am being nosey, but we could find out what the most popular brand is here on boards.

I have two Rolands but they're missing from the poll. Horrible oversight by the poll maker. I mean what are we coming to at all. I'm shocked.

I don't own any amp manufacturer. I own some amps, it's a bit different. :p

I have a Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0 with 2x10 cab for my bass and also a Roland Microcube for my guitar. :)

EDIT: No Genz-Benz but Marshall MG got its own selection??!

Sorry people......boards only let me have a maximum of 25.
I had to put the Marshall MG in a class of it's own because then MG owners would be selecting Marshall as well as the Marshall valve guys. We couldn't have that now.

Sorry, forgot Roland for the cubes etc. (please, buy a new amp).
Any other amps not on the list......choose the Atari option. The sound from that one is up there with the best. Sparkling cleans and savage overdrive. Must do your own effects though.

I did have the option of giving voters more than one vote, but i thought against that one. Maybe next time.

    Hey GStorm,

I think I'm just about to splash on a Rocker 30 myself, am looking into the Classic 30/Classic 50 alternatively, would you rate the Rocker 30 way ahead of the Classic?

Any major pros or cons from either worth mentioning? Cheers.

Oh and for the record I've currently got a solid state Fender Deluxe Plus 112.

So this should be a serious upgrade for me :D

Personally I prefer the Rocker but thats because it can do some great distortion/overdrive and the natural channel breaks up nicely at higher volumes. The classic wont do quite as much distortion but they are a great amp for blues and classic rock. It depends what sound you're after. The classic 50 wasn't miles away from my blues deluxe. The blues deluxe is a great amp as well. Best you can do is try and play both amps before deciding.

    BTW:
    Rocker - 30W
    Blues Deluxe - 40W
    Classic- 50W

I like the lower wattage. It still goes way louder than I need but its easier to saturate the tubes at lower volumes. Master volume works wonders on the Rocker as well and doesn't kill the tone like other amps. Much easier to get great sounds at lower volumes. Couldn't get much out of the classic without cranking it too high but the 30W would prob be better.

    At the moment I've got

    Engl E530 preamp
    Laney GH50L
    Peavey Bandit 112

I went with the ENGL as it's the nicest sounding of my stuff.

I am an Ashdown man. ;) I have two. One is the ashdown mag 300, and the other is the abm 500 combo 2x10 with an ashdown compact 1x15 extension cab. I think I should be due endorsement privileges. :pac:

Marshall MG (a range all by itself)
Vox AD100VT with a boss ME50 before the amp. The main reason i use the me50 is to store a really heavy tone, can only have three stored on the amp. Great amp for clean and crunch.

    Is that a Princeton Reissue?

If so, I've been thinking about buying one. What do you think of yours?

Not a reissue, pretty old. It's got a really nice tone, but a couple of things annoy me, the reverb doesn't work (common fault) and costs 60 quid a time to get fixed so I just got a reverb pedal and it's volume is strange, it's either 'loud' or off. there's no happy medium

:) I was about to post the same thing. I wouldn't mind owning Peavey, never mind a Peavey amp!

The two amp brands that I own also aren't in the poll. I have a Carlsbro bass amp and a Behringer guitar amp. Someday maybe I'll be good enough and Santa Claus will bring me a Mesa Boogie or an Engl...

Up until recently it was a Matamp 1224mkII and two Laneys- an LC30 and its little brother the LC15.
I let the LC30 go last week for a pittance to a good friend (a friend who deals is a friend indeed:pac:) and I'll be doing the same with the LC15 at the weekend.

Ah right. So is that one of the solidstate Princetons then???

They did a reissue of the '65 Princeton Reverb and thats the one I was looking at. It sounds damn nice!

    I have a Mesa LSS 1 x 12 combo luvvy luvvy luvvy, a Matamp First Lady 7 watt head switchable between an EL34 and a 6L6 which powers a Mongotone 2 x 10 cab and finally a Marshall 30th Anni 100 watt head and a Marshal Lead 2 x 12 cab.

If I was forced to keep only one it would be the Mesa LSS (but I would track down the person doing the forcing and kill them)

My trusty old Mesa Dual Recto. It's an older two channel one though, not the newer 3 channel head. I think it sounds better though! More crunchy. That through a Marshall 1960A cab.

Most versatile amp I've ever had the pleasure of playing. 4 Channels, each with low and high gain settings, which are all voiced very differently. Incredible array of tones, and just one of the best sounding amps I've ever heard. ;)
