"An error has occurred..."

Got a new 'game' today - My Fitness Coach. When I try to play it I get the following "An error has occurred. Press the Eject button and remove the disc, then turn the wii console off and refer to the operation manual for troubleshooting."
In the manual this is the very first error listed but it only tells you to check the website. The website only says there may be a problem with the console. The other discs I have do not give this problem. I brought the disc back for another copy but I get the same error.
Has anybody come across this before?
The guy in the shop says that the Wii disc readers are not so good.
There were only two copies of My Fitness Coach in the shop (good price).
Could there be a problem with this 'game' or what?
    Any help please?:(

Actually I had the same problem with Resi 4 over the weekend. I assumed that it was just because the disc was damaged as it was a second hand copy. But from reading online it seems that it could be a problem with the console.

I'm not too pushed about playing Resi as I already completed it on the PS2 and all of the other games that I have play fine. But if it happens with another game I shall be looking at getting the console repaired.

I would presume that as it has happened with two copies of the same game with the OP that it is indeed a hardware issue. You should look at sending it back to Nintendo.

    Thanks for the reply.
I don't understand how its ok for most discs but not for one if it is a hardware issue.

Now I don't honestly know anything about that fitness game but this may have something to do with the disc reader alright - discs that are dual layer on wii are prone to faulty reads when you have a wii in a room where someone smokes or if it's well dusty. I had this problem when I bought Smash Bros Brawl which was the first dual layer disc game and I had to send the wii back to ninty to fix (all completely free by the way).
I know they've brought out a disc cleaner since but I'm not sure if it's out in Europe yet......anyone know if it is? Could be the solution to your problem dude.
