Turn it upside down and look behind the trigger. If the latch is down, push it back up.
You can always bring to a retailer to get fixed.

There is a Michigan based airsoft forum that you could try: http://miairsoft.proboards.com/index.cgi. They seem to have a retailer section. This forum (Boards.ie), although frequented by many airsofters from abroad, is based in Ireland. We do have some excellent retailers who do repairs but I reckon the cost of flying over and back might just break the bank!;)

sorry for diggin up an old thread but can anyone help me with a problem i have with me well l96, it brand new i fired 1 mag and then every time i c0ck the gun and pull the trigger nothing happens, this happened about a week ago so i brought it back to the shop and they fixed it, i have it back 1 day and it happened again :S , how can i fix this?

    Nice necro, but anyway....

When you cock the rifle is the spring catching on the sear? e.g when you pull the bolt back does it go click and the spring stay compressed? Or does it feel as thought the spring is constantly pushing against the bolt?

If the spring is catching on the sear I'd say there is something wrong with the trigger mechanism.
If the spring isn't catching on the sear then there is something wrong with your sear.

But to be honest I'd just bring it back to the shop you got it from and either ask for a new gun or a repair that will last.

it catches the sear and stays compressed, ye i might just bring it back and get a new one cause that the second time it happened to it and only after firing 1 mag

When you pull the trigger does the spring release?

nope, it just stays cocked :S

Yeah then there's something obviously up with the trigger mechanism. As it's only brand new I'd bring it back.

Is it on safe? does the safety lever operate as its supposed to? it could also be that it just needs a slight adjustment to the trigger, usually nothing too serious with these guns. :)
