Ive been unemployed since December 16th, and i signed on the dole list at the 3rd of January. Ive been getting social welfare allowance since March 3rd. My question is do they pay you extra the weeks i wasnt working from 3rd Jan and March 3rd because i wasnt getting any payments during that time! I heard they will subtract the social welfare allowance from the backlog but i dont know will the pay me from 3rd of jan till the 3rd of march when i was unemployed and not working! any help will be appreciated thanks>!

i think so, you should get paid from 2 days after you finished your job. i dont know why you loose 2 days but this is what i was told in the SWO. bit weird.

They will back date your pay from the 1st day you originally claimed so when your payment finally arrives, whatever payments that have been made to you on the allowance will be deducted from your back pay and you'l just get your payment from then on each week

If you were getting money from the CWO, then you may not be due any arrears as the amount paid by the health board is deducted from any back payments due to you. Otherwise, your first payment should include all arrears.
