Hi all, just need some advice here.

Just after buying a car from the bro, have sent off the change of ownership cert to shannon a good while ago, and getting a bit impatient. Was wondering can i tax and insure the car before getting back the change of ownership form because it seems like its going to take a long time????

    Thanks

anything over 10 days I would be ringing them. you could always tax it under your brothers details as tax stays with the car. and you can insure it as well

Shannon has a number you can ring 1890-411412.
There is an automated voice saying what day they are processing certs from.

I think you can tax it online too, the pin number will be the Last 6 of the Chassis (vin)

Some one said that before, but it doesn't work for mine.

OP, regarding insurance, you can insure it as soon as you buy it. In the eye's of the insurance companies, (Well for Quinn anyway), once money is handed over, the car is considered to be yours.
