Recommend some trees please

Folks
I am putting in trees to bring a little life to our garden (field!! )

I put in 3 there over the weekend, a Verburnum - http://www.bahce.gen.tr/wp-content/uploads/laburnum_anagyroides_flowering.jpg

A Flowering Crab apple in the middle about 25ft away and a Crimson King - http://www.cirrusimage.com/Spider/norway_maple_tree.jpg

All these went into the lawn on 1 side of the drive.

Now I want to put in another 3 or even 4 trees on the opposite side of the drive.

I also want to group 3 trees together as a focal point which can be seen from our dining room through the sun room windows. These will be about 30ft from the house.

I would appreciate any suggestions.

If I was looking at trees for a focal point, I would choose three that would give something to look at all year round, between them. So - one that flowers in the spring, one that has great autumn colour, and an evergreen perhaps.
Just my 2 cents.;)

I've always liked Amelanchier. Not evergreen, unfortunately but has a changing appearance all through the year, maybe some silver birch along the drive.

Thats a nice tree that, would be nice to view it and it would also be in full view as you swing in the drive. Would 1 suffice I wonder and would 2 or 3 be over kill in the one area?

Another apple tree - you need two for apples, the crab apple will do for one. Anywhere will do - you get flowers in the spring and fruit in the autumn.

I'd say one Amelanchier would be enough, more would, as you say, be overkill. The hawthorn and the lime are both handsome trees as well but whether the Japanese maples would take kindly to the gales in Mayo is debatable.

LOL we have very oriental gales here.
