Paint on dropout

Since spending my hard earned savings on my first carbon bike, I have been treating it like a new member of the family.

I fixed a rear puncture today, locked the wheel into the dropout again and, too my horror, the paint on one of the dropouts cracked and some of it fell off.

Not having a carbon frame before, I don't know if this is a common occurance or not. Should this be something I should be worried about? i.e. now that it has started will it eventually start working it's way up the bike from there..

    Thanks,

Very common on Trek bikes actually, the older models at least. Not usuallya big deal, the bike tends to flex there and the paint can come off. Been like that on one of mine for years. Check the area for stress fractures but I would imagine that its nothing to worry about.

Worth noting though, happened on a friends 2 year old trek 2200 and trek replaced it under warranty a few weeks ago...
