Here's the story, I bought a car from a fella over 2 months ago for €750. He did not have the VLC present on the day of purchase but because he was local i trusted that he would forward it on after applying for a duplicate. Here's the tricky bit, it seems he bought the car off someone else and he now tells me that he never received the VLC for it when he purchased !! So now i'm in a situation where basicly i need to source the VLC, the second last owner cant be traced tho. What do i do now.Is there any way i can get the VLC for this car without dragging my solicitor etc into it. The tax and NCT have both expired so the car cannot be driven. I know i should'nt have bought the car without proof of a VLC but i was naieve enough to believe he had it. Any advice greatly appreciated guys....

I would say go to your local Garda station and see if the car is stolen and they might be able to direct you as to who is on the vlc as the owner.

I checked motorcheck.ie and it says the car is fine not stolen etc. that cost me 20 quid but it didnt give me any details with regards to who the previous owner was
