I've a gap in my front teeth. It annoyed me all through school. Now I'm in a position to pay to have it fixed, but i'm not sure if i want to close it altogether or just make it smaller. By bf likes it and says it gives me character.... I'm not so sure myself.

What do you guys think of gaps?

I don't think a gap between a person's front teeth would necessarily be unattractive. It's kind of quirky and cute in a girl, if she is otherwise okay / good looking.

If you post a pic of yourself smiling, it will be easier to assess the situation.

I think it can look attractive. It is also meant to be indicative of success in life. One woman who has a gap and is uber successful is Madonna.

It depends how wide the gap is, tbh. It can look cute (on a girl) if it's small.
But on a man I would say get it fixed.

Get rid of it. I had a large gap and all sorts of other problems, it's so much nicer now it's gone. Anytime I see someone with a gap between their teeth I wonder why they haven't got it fixed.

really depends on the head and body the teeth are attached to.

+1 to the above.. Got mine fixed and had my braces off there in feb (i'm 22 btw)- possibly the best decision I ever made and my confidence is miles better! I had a gap but they were also a little crooked. Now I am no longer self conscious about my smile- and actually proud of it, love showing it off!

If youre asking on the forums then it seems like you are unsure and a little self conscious of it, in which case I would reccomend you get it fixed if you can, as it will just niggle away at you forever if you are always unsure about it.

Some people have them and love them, but you don't seem to. It's actually all about how you feel about yourself, I don't think anyone else really cares what you look like in the long run.

My sister has one and it looks really good, kind of quirky and pretty.

It really depends on the person

If you're good looking then yeah you can probably pull it off, but if you're not forget about it. Get rid.

    Pffft!

If someone is really that horrendous is fixing a gap in the teeth going to make a difference?

My hubby has a gap in his teeth, it's very nice.

It's up to yourself OP, it doesn't matter what a bunch of strangers on a Fashion and Appearance board think.

It all depends on how big the gap is. I have a small gap which I think looks fine, but if it's so big that it looks as though there's a tooth missing, you should probably sort it.
