Can anyone recommend somewhere in Dublin city centre or D4 area that could repair crotches in a few pairs of jeans well, and maybe put an extra layer inside to stop it happening again?

Seriously, Does anyone know? I'm through another pair of diesel and have 2 pairs at home that already need fixing.

anywhere that does alterations should be able to do it. My Mum used to do those through a dry-cleaner (she's a seamtress) and loads of people were getting it done... although I tend to do my own, it's not that hard. Just buy either a cheap pair of jeans in somewhere like penneys and just patch them up, or buy some crazy material and go mad!

Thanks. Have tried sewing them up myself but it only lasted awhile. I'll drop them into town or something (any places in town you could recommend would be appreciated)

Have you been putting your jeans in the tumble dryer? Because that is really bad for destroying stitching especially around the crotch...have wrecked 2 pairs of jeans before I made the connection!

Well there's a place at the end of liffey street beside the bagel shop that i used to take up shirt sleeves once, they were really good... was french cuffs too so was a bit tricky... not sure what they'd be like for patching jeans, but they might be good...

There's a tailors just off of Grafton street who's quite good, I think it was Duke street but I'm not 100% sure. The missus brought in a leather dress for him to modify and he did a great job. Leather is not a forgiving material to work with but several years later and it's still going strong.

I went into a place on Aungiers Street (think it's No. 76), it's upstairs just past the 747 shop. Couldn't believe the job they did, my jeans were ripped at the knee, and there was no evidence of it! It was fairly cheap as well.
