White line across Sky picture

On my Sky+ box whenever there's a black/dark screen, I can see a white line travelling from left to right across the screen.

It only happens on Sky. Not when playing a game or watching a DVD.

Is this likely to be the box or should I try changing the SCART cable?

select an empty channel on built in TV tuner, or unplug aerial
    unplug everything else
    Select Sky box.

If it goes away it's crosstalk.

It's likely the cable is not individual coax insides. Expensive gold but skinny scarts are rubbish. You need you a FAT cable. Gold is irrelevant.

The cover shells unscrew easily on proper SCARTs and then you can see the 5 mini-coax for video. If all the wires are the same, one bundle, in a single outer screen then you get TV out of TV's internal tuner leaking out.

Make sure you have the SCART in on the TV that supports RGB, often only one of several is RGB and select RGB in Digibox services setup.

I don't have a normal aerial in the TV at all.

The only things connected are the Sky box on AV1 and the PS3 on HDMI (which is off most of the time).

Try changing the picture setting on the sky box from pal to rgb or vice-versa and see if this makes any difference..

    Do this by pressing services
    Option 4 system setup
    option 1 picture settings.
Also try turning down the sharpness on your tv..

Have you anything else like a lamp or cordless phone plugged in near the tv..if so try unplugging them

use a process of elimination. try a different scart cable, try a different scart socket etc. etc. and if no combination fixes it then its either a problem with the telly or the sky box. then try connecting something else instead of the sky box
