Hi, I wanted to add an out door tap and run it from under the kitchen sink. I have all the tools I need, but when I tried to turn off the water to make the job easy, it doesn't fully close. There is still a trickle of water. Does anyone know how I can completely close the valve? I've twisted it as much as I can!

Try opening and closing it a few times to loosen it up, then with it about a turn open, open the kitchen tap and give it a good flush through. Then try closing it again with the kitchen tap still open. It might be that it's just got tight through lack of use or has some dirt on the seat. The suggestion above might be enough to fix it. If it still won't close completely, the other alternative is hire an electric pipe freezer from a tool hire firm and put a block of ice in the pipe as far away from where you are going to work as you can get.

Thanks Art! That certainly helped. The tap now only drips a little, which will make the job much easier. :D
