anti pollution fault 307

there is an orange engine light after coming up on the dash board and also on the screen it says anti pollution fault. its a 307 1.4hdi 2002 with 104000miles up on it. whats wrong with it do ye know

I think that usually means that the diesel particulate filter is clogged and the car needs a good old drive at high revs to clear the dirt, here's a similar post on it http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055509032&highlight=particulate

Consult your manual to be sure.

The 1.4 hdi's haven't got a partical filter as far as i know.
You need to get it plugged into a diagnostic tool to get the fault code
and take it from there...;)
It's a common fault on the 307's...:rolleyes:
