Is violence ever acceptable?

I was driven off the road today by an ignorant truck driver.
The gardai accepted that he was in the wrong.
    He could've killed me.
I was in a takeaway later on and a bunch of scumbag D4 heads skipped me and I told them in no uncertain way to get their arses back in the queue like the rest of of us.
Generally like most of us I would have let it go but not today as I was in a different frame of mind due to the accident.
I was tempted to kick the crap out of the two guys in the group but I didn't.
I feel like 90% of the time us general population put up with **** behaviour that we shouldn't.
And sometimes the people that truly deserve a kicking get away with it because we are too civilised.
Just wondering what you guys think?

Is violence ever acceptable? Yes, of course, in certain circumstances.

Should you kick the **** out of somebody because they skipped a queue and/or come from Dublin 4 just because you're having a bad day? No, not at all.

Again, not a violent guy but should these idiots be simply allowed to carry on in their ignorant fashion?
I can't think of any other what that these twats will learn respect for everyone else unless they get a good slap.
If you have a better way please let me know.

It's up to them if they want to be ignorant, that's their perogative. If you want to get your arse kicked, thats yours. Pick and choose your fights mate. Let this one go.

Bad Karma transfer imo. Truck Driver ****s with you so you **** with some unrelated person? Seems wrong, like the parent that yells at their kids because they had a bad day at work.

Theres a time and a place, like saving someone else or self defense. But getting pissy because someone skipped the queue and got their chips 45 seconds faster than you is pretty messed up.

Ya, Violence is acceptable in alot of circumstances. But not in the one you described.

You should have used a nice proper scummy voice (if you have the look for it) and told them get out of you way. But a fight over chips, reminds me of that case in England where a fella was murdered because someone else called a girl out on skipping, she promptly called her BF who decided it seemed only right to kill a guy who had nothing to do with it.

Be careful who you think you can fight.

It's not like the days when a fight ended when the last punch is thrown. It is alot more kosher now to stab.

I'm not saying put up with the crap. But just pick your battles. Don't start fights that you won't either finish or walk away from.

No voilence is never acceptable unfortun society scumbags have come to thrive on the insecurties of the vunerable so although not acceptable unless your living in the moddle of nowhere it has become nesessary.

The best thing to do with rad rage is stop the car get out and stand at the side of the road. Say the car just stalled and your giving it a minute. It drives them fcuking mad. They cant despute it and they have not your permission to move it.

Violence is bitter but revenge it sweet and best served cold.

I may be hopelessly naive (or confident in how scathing my verbal attacks are) but I think a lot of people would learn by repeatedly being called on their ignorant behaviour without the resort to violence. You were right to tell them to get back in line and a lot of people wouldn't have done that at all. Beating the snot our of them would have been overkill though I totally understand the desire to inflict pain on these types of people.

Take it to AH or humanities and in future the title of the forum should give the game away, it's not this place for this. Read the forum charter in future. Closed.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.
