Snoop Dogg has teamed up with Beyonce's father and Johnny Cash's son to remix the late country legend's hits. Johnny Cash Remixed features the country star's music reworked by modern hip-hop and R&B stars.

Snoop even adds a new version of Cash's "I Walk The Line" to the compilation, according to NME.com.

His partners in the odd project are Mathew Knowles and John Carter Cash, who insists he and the entire Cash clan gave the album idea their blessing.

He says, "My father made his stead defying the expected and accepted way of things. He set the standard at the same time. He would have loved this remix record. While it stays true to the original recordings, the CD touches on undiscovered ground. My father was about staying true to tradition while creating groundbreaking music."

Tracks include "Get Rhythm", "Leave That Junk Alone", "Folsom Prison Blues" and "Rock Island Line".

Don't know what to make of this, could be interesting, but have a feeling it can't be anything else but garbage? Opinions?

I seem to recall he made a song last year that had a kind of country vibe to it.

Really, there are a lot of parallels between country and rap, so perhaps he could pull it off. However, I have a lot of love for Johnny Cash, so it would be a hard sell for me...
